On Tuesday April 7, 2020, the Washington State Department of Commerce and Governor Jay Inslee introduced the Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grant program. The new grant program offers assistance to small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) is partnering with the Governor and the Department of Commerce to accept grant applications from Kitsap County businesses.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

KEDA began receiving applications moments after the grant was announced and are already in receipt of well over 200 applications. Every application will be evaluated carefully, but not every business that applies will receive funds. There is not nearly enough funding to bridge the needs of all local businesses through this crisis period. We encourage all impacted small businesses to apply but also wish to be transparent and temper expectations as the number of grants expected to be issued to Kitsap businesses (non-profits are not eligible) is extremely limited.

After initial screening KEDA will forward a predetermined number of applications to the Department of Commerce who will make the final award decisions from applications submitted statewide.

We will make every effort to keep you informed about progress on this program and will share information about p other grant or relief programs that might offer assistance to struggling businesses.
